Join us for a READS workshop at the Annual Meeting of the Society for Classical Studies. Wilson J. Moses’s 1998 monograph, Afrotopia: The Roots of African American Popular History, is a major contribution to debates about Afrocentrism and to the history of Black classical scholarship, both topics of enduring importance for the study of the ancient world.  This workshop is an opportunity for classicists to read and think with this important work nearly thirty years after its publication and in the year of Moses’s 85th birthday.
